Upon our arrival, one of our representatives will be waiting for you to welcome you, transfer you to the hotel and explain the island a little more.
Kefalonia is referred to by Homer as Same or Samos, a name that derives from Cephalus who became master of the island helped by Host. However, Herodotus is the first to call the island Kefalonia. Kefalonia also preserves the ruins of a Roman city in Cape Escala, to the southeast, probably built in the 1st century and called Cephalenia.
Nowadays it has the Castle of Saint George next to the Livadho plain. To the north you can find remains of a fortress called Asso, which may be the ancient Nesus.
The rest of the day will be free to relax and discover Kefalonia at our own pace. One of the most famous islands of the Ionian archipelago with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
