This 9 day self-drive package is a combination of unique travel destinations, each one adding a different flavor to the trip. Explore Turkey at your own travel pace, with flexibility and time to enjoy the sites and relax at the selected 4**** hotels. 
You start with a visit to the historical city of Istanbul, where you can be strolling down the busy downtown streets filled with restaurants, bazaars and out of the blue see ancient ruins standing before you.  After staying 2 nights in Istanbul, you will be taking your car to head to Ankara, Cappadocia, Konya, Pamukkale, Ephesus. This fascinating road trip concludes in Izmir International Airport
Note: This tour can be organized in reverse order from Izmir to Istanbul too.

Important Notes on Car Rental Conditions: 
  • A credit or debit card will be requested at the time of picking up the vehicle and will be used for the security deposit (prepaid cards are not accepted). All highways, bridges  fees will be debited from your card. All traffic fines will be debitted from your card. 
  • You must be at least 21 years old for renting a vehicle with 3 years of driver license (25 years old in some categories). There are no maximum age restrictions. 
  • For the second driver additional insurance must be issued.

Arrive at Istanbul Airport and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2Istanbul

Free day at leisure . Overnight: Istanbul Meals: Breakfast
Recommended Visits in Istanbul : Stroll through Sogukcesme Street with typical wooden house which are now landmark buildings of ottoman architecture. Arrive to Topkapi Palace, the largest and oldest of the remaining palaces where Ottoman Sultans used to live; admire the gardens, kitchens, the treasury section as well as terraces overlooking the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn. Photo stop at the Fountain of Sultan Ahmet the 3rd and explore Saint Sophia, the masterpiece of Byzantine architecture dating back to the VIth century. After lunch, visit the Blue Mosque covered by more than 20.000 Iznik tiles and continue with the Roman Hippodrome where the char races used to take place.

Day 3Istanbul - Ankara

After breakfast half day free of leisure.
Recommended Visits in Istanbul : Discover the handcrafts of Anatolia and shop in the labyrinth tunnels of the Grand Bazaar. Visit also Spice Market
 
Delivery of your rental car (economy class) at your hotel at 12:00. Self-drive to Ankara. Overnight.

Day 4Ankara - Cappadocia

Breakfast and self-guided visit of Ankara:
Recommended visits in Ankara: Anatolian Civilizations Museum where you will see the Neolithic & Paleolithic ruins from Urartu , Hatti, Hittite, Phrygia civilizations, then proceed to Mausoleum of Ataturk , the founder of Turkish Republic.
In the afternoon you may drive to Cappadocia via Salt Lake. You may visit Serhatli Underground City before arriving to your hotel in Ürgüp.

Breakfast and drive to Pamukkale

Day 8Pamukkale - Ephesus - İzmir

Breakfast and drive to Selcuk
Recommended Visits : Ancient City of Ephesus: the city that was dedicated to Artemis I the Odeon, Temple of Hadrian, the House of Love, the Library of Celsus, the Agora . Then proceed for Virgin Mary House – has been believed it is the final resting place of the mother of Jesus
