Belvedere Hotel

About Us

The 23-room Belvedere Santorini is a small four-pearl hotel set on the bluffs of Firostefani, overlooking the Aegean with a coastal cobblestone pathway that leads to Fira’s shops, galleries, and restaurants. Rooms are decorated in stylish white furnishings and have terraces with Aegean views. Honeymoon Suites feature fireplaces in sitting areas; some suites also have kitchenettes. There’s an outdoor pool with amazing sea views from surrounding lounge chairs and a charming wine cellar in the basement.

Chic Santorinian-style setting on a cobblestone coastal street with Aegean views

Whitewashed Santorinian designs are complemented by modern glass railings and ancient-looking vases at the Belvedere Santorini, an upscale cliffside hotel with views out over the Aegean. Pathways featuring bursts of greenery weave through the property, eventually leading to a coastal street that connects the hotel with the town center. However, the cobblestone street and steep inclines aren’t kid- or wheelchair-friendly. The hotel’s office, like other areas of the property, is accessible via stairs, and a porter is available to help carry luggage. Outside the small office is a stylishly furnished patio that faces the Aegean. This romantic setting suits honeymooners and couples, but those with compromised mobility might find getting around problematic

Cliffside location within walking distance to Fira

The Belvedere Santorini has a fantastic cliffside location in Firostefani, hanging over the Aegean with views of the coast that’s dotted in whitewashed buildings. A 15-minute walk down a coastal pathway leads to the cafes, shops, galleries, and restaurants in Fira, and it’s a 20-minute walk to the Museum of Prehistoric Thira. The coastal route also leads to Oia — known for its sunsets — but the trek can take upwards of two hours. This side of the island, with jagged cliffs, isn’t known for its sandy shores, but guests are granted access to a private beach at the Santo Miramare Resort, a half-hour car ride away. The drive to the Santorini Airport takes 20 minutes.

Stylish, white rooms with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and terraces with sea views; some with fireplaces

White décor gives rooms a modern and chic look and arched plastered doorways add local character. The overall vibe is stylish, with white tufted headboards, contemporary pebble lamps, massive modern vases, and French doors that open onto balconies or terraces with Aegean views. Housekeeping is daily, and all rooms come with air-conditioning, minibars, safes, kettles, and flat-screen TVs. Junior Suites have sitting areas and one-bedroom VIP Suites — spread over two levels — feature living rooms, two bathrooms, and whirlpool tubs. Honeymoon Suites offer kitchenettes that have mini-fridges, stovetops, and romantic features including fireplaces and free wine and fruit. Bathrooms are stylishly fitted with natural stone sink basins, ladder-style towel racks, and walk-in showers.

Pool and bar with beautiful views, wine cellar, and front desk services

As a small boutique hotel, the Belvedere Santorini is limited in terms of its facilities. There’s no on-site spa; guests seeking spa services are referred to Lotus Spa at the El Greco, which is 10 minutes away by car. But the hotel does have a modern pool surrounded by a glass railing that provides amazing views of the Aegean and caldera from the water. It’s surrounded by a deck with dining tables and lounge chairs. The infinity-edge pool bar features lovely archways and cocktails; light meals, and wine are served here along with a free breakfast in the morning, but there’s no full restaurant. Stylishly furnished in light-colored contemporary furniture, the wine cellar in the basement is a cozy atmosphere for tastings. The 24-front desk service can arrange airport transfers or boat trips. Parking and Wi-Fi are available at no extra charge.
