Kenya Private Discovery The Carnivore Restaurant

Lunch at The Carnivore Restaurant which is justifiably referred to as Africa’s Greatest Eating Experience. Twice voted amongst the world’s 50 best restaurants , the Carnivore is an amazing open-air meat specialty restaurant that has strikingly different food service and atmosphere to any other restaurant in Kenya. Whole joints of meat – legs of lamb and pork, haunches of delicious meat, rumps of beef, sirloins, racks of lamb, spareribs, sausages, chicken wings, skewered kidneys, even crocodile, and other tasty morsels – are roasted on traditional Maasai swords over a huge, visually spectacular charcoal pit that dominates the entrance of the restaurant.

At 03:00pm, proceed to the Giraffe Center. The Giraffe Centre was established in an attempt to save the endangered Rothschild giraffe. The Rothschild giraffe had lost its natural habitat in western Kenya due sub-division and resettlement and only 130 Rothschild giraffe were remaining. The Giraffe Centre is home for about 14 resident Rothschild giraffes. At the Giraffe Centre, you will be able to hand feed, observe and even kiss the friendly Rothschild giraffes. Visitors at the Giraffe Centre get a chance to come into close contact with these remarkable, graceful animals.

Years ago, this was the locale around which such famous writers as Ernest Hemingway and Robert Ruark spun their stories of big game hunting in the wilds of Africa. The park encompasses dry lake beds, savannah woodland and extensive swamps constantly fed by springs emanating from the mountain. The water and seasonal lakes attract a wide variety of bird and animal life, in particular herds of elephant. Because it was a private tour, everything went according to plan. We saw a lot of Tanzania and Kenya throughout our eight game parks. Maybe if there had been more flights between these parks, it would have been better. Every aspect of our trip, from the accommodations to the meals to the views to the drivers, was first-rate.

February is a lovely month to visit. During calving season, you will witness migratory animals, but you will not witness the huge migration. There are less people and more pleasant, verdant landscapes, and game parks. In sum, we had a fantastic time on our trip; we got to see a plethora of wildlife, and the Zanzibar extension provided much-needed downtime. Our experience with Eskapas was good.

Seeing African animals on television is fascinating, but being there in person and seeing them in their natural habitat was an unforgettable, strange, and heart-pounding experience.

When you book your tour with Eskapas, you can be assured that everything will unfold according to the plan. Each of the four-star lodgings was first-rate. Our driver/tour guide from the area was first-rate. We really suggest this vacation.

Particularly in Masai Mara, the anticipated experiences were the most memorable. The school and Masai community tours were also highlights. There was never a dull moment thanks to the incredible range of sceneries and terrains. I thought it was great that our driver could get us reasonably near to the animals.

We traveled to Kenya with a small group of 7. The tour was well organized , Eskapas allocated two Toyota Landcruiser and two guides/drivers who were excellent, always on time, friendly, always with a smile, what else can you hope for. Lodges we stayed were really good. Meals OK. It was our first time with Eskapas and really enjoyed it.
