Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Lyon, France

Self transfer and check-in to your hotel. Meet with your pedicab driver at 07:30 pm at 32 Place Bellecour, 69002 Lyon, France (Map)

Please ensure you arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes prior to the tour start time. Duration: 2 hours

This private tour explore the city which is situated near the confluence of the rivers Rhône and Saône. Home to several UNESCO world heritage sites with 2000 years of history. With a big Renaissance-style old town, Roman ruins, historic industrial districts, and the Place Des Terreaux, the city has a lot to offer. Get ready to experience the best of Lyon, a cute pedi-drive around the city where you’ll see and learn about Renaissance architecture, discover the narrow “traboules” – delightful renaissance passageways – , and hear some interesting facts and stories from your local guide.

Day 2Northern Rhône Valley

After breakfast you will meet with your guide will pick you up from your hotel at 10:00. On this tour, travel from your hotel to Ampuis and Condrieu, and visit traditional wineries in the Côte-Rôtie region. 

Syrah and viognier are two grape varietals which thrive in the warm French sunshine, but knowing where to find the finest wine estates can be a challenge.  Wander among the vineyards as your guide explains the winemaking process, and enjoy five of the delicate wines with spectacular Rhône Valley views.

Your driver-guide will come to pick you up in comfortable 8 seater minibus at a predetermined location. You will begin your wine journey in the village of Ampuis, cradle of Côte-Rôtie AOC. You will see the steep hillsides of one of the oldest vineyard in France. During a tasting of 4 wines in the middle of the vineyard, you will understand the origin of this exceptional wine and the importance of the Terroir. On the steep hillsides the vineyards have a perfect sun exposition and a very rich and diversified terroir. You will immediately be seduced by the magnificent view over the Rhône Valley!

 

You will return back to Lyon at 02:00 pm. After-noon is free at leisure.
