Madrid Short Break

Visiting a city as big and frenetic as Madrid is an unforgettable yet exhausting experience. That’s why many visitors choose to take advantage of some of their time in Spain’s capital to enjoy a short break to one of many destinations guaranteeing a lovely, relaxing experience less than an hour and a half away from the city by car. From discovering historic monuments and cities to going water skiing, eating roast suckling pig or staying at a country house in a medieval village. Madrid is all about spontaneity and even the best-laid plans tend to get forgotten after a couple of days as you slip into the swing of the city. Don’t feel guilty about abandoning your cultural agenda, it just means you’re behaving like a true Madrileño.

We’ll visit the inside of the stunning building, visiting its main halls, the most striking of which include the Throne Room, the Mirror Hall, and the Gaspari Chamber. Can you guess the number of bedrooms this palace, one of the largest in Europe, has?

With the tour of the Royal Palace over, we’ll take a walking tour around Madrid, a guided tour on which we’ll see some of the most emblematic spots in the Spanish capital, such as the Plaza del Oriente, the Congress and the iconic Puerta del Sol.

Next, we’ll go to the Prado Museum, which is one of the most important art galleries in the world. Let’s go!

During a tour lasting 1 hour 30 minutes, we’ll explore the main halls of the Prado Museum. Among the main works on display are “3 de Mayo en Madrid” by Goya, the Meninas by Velázquez and “The Garden of Earthly Delights” by Bosch. And you’ll also be able to see other works by masters such as El Greco, Rubens, Rembrandt, Sorolla and other greats in the history of art.
