Itinerary

Day 1Arrive in Delhi, India

After clearing customs, you will be welcomed by your representative and enjoy a convenient transfer to your hotel. After check-in, settle in and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight: Delhi Meals: Not Available

Day 2Delhi

After breakfast, you’ll set out to explore India’s capital! You’ll be taken to a handful of Delhi’s most famous attractions, including the Raj Ghat and Qutab Minar.

Zip through the old city by rickshaw and begin your tour at the Red Fort, a 300-year-old walled city built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648 as his capital. The magnificent fort built of red sandstone dates from the very peak of the Mughal power and served as the royal residence until 1857. Opposite the fort is the black and white dome and minarets of the Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque. Drive past the ruins of Feroz Shah Kotla fort with the Ashokan Pillar dating back to 3rd BC, and end your old city tour with a visit to Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi was laid to rest in 1948.

In New Delhi, visit the capital designed by Sir Edward Lutyens and drive past the Presidential Palace, the Rashtrapati Bhawan and the secretariat buildings – the center of all government activity.  Here you’ll see Qutab Minar, representing the first Islamic monument that marked a shift of power in the country. While exclusively Islamic in conception, its execution was the work of Hindus, and its unique designs accompany arabesque verses of the Quran, in a synthesis of two distinct styles meeting for the first time.

Overnight: Delhi Meals: Breakfast

Day 3Delhi - Agra

Today, you’ll travel by private vehicle to the city of Agra. The journey will take approximately 3.5 hours. Once there, you’ll have the opportunity to explore or relax independently for the remainder of the day.

Overnight: Agra Meals: Breakfast

Day 4Agra - Jaipur

Today you’ll wake up early to visit the Taj Mahal at dawn. You’ll return to the hotel for breakfast after your visit. Then you’ll start towards Jaipur with a stop along the way at Abhaneri Village. Arrive in Jaipur in the evening, with free time to relax or perhaps catch a Bollywood film!

Visit of Taj Mahal: Built in memory of Mumtaz Mahal, the late wife of the Mughal emperor Shah Jehan, the Taj Mahal is a stunning display of architecture. Some say it is the most perfect architectural monument in the world, with incredible lacy-white decoration, graceful domes, and pure grandeur. Built out of love, this stunning palace-like structure is extravagant both at a distance and up close.

Please note that The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays, so your Day 4 visit will be rescheduled to another day in the itinerary if necessary.

Overnight: Jaipur Meals: Breakfast

Day 5Jaipur

This morning, you’ll visit the Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal. In the morning, your first stop is Amber Fort. Amber Fort is set on a hilltop overlooking Maota Lake and offers an authentic example of Rajput architecture. Step into the Sheesh Mahal, or Hall of Mirrors, to experience one of the fort’s most spectacular buildings. After, stop at the Palace of Winds, or Hawa Mahal. The beehive-like structure is made of pink and red sand stone and makes for a great photo opportunity!

The afternoon is yours to continue exploring independently. Perhaps you’ll visit Jaipur’s Royal City Palace or a local temple. At dinner time, you’ll enjoy a traditional meal with folk dancing at a local restaurant!

Overnight: Jaipur Meals: Breakfast – Dinner with show

The tour is priced at a reasonable rate for the value it provides. Our chauffeur was exceptional and was more than willing to stop if we observed anything of interest. Most likely, the Taj Mahal is the most exquisite structure I have ever seen. The pink city of Jaipur was captivating, and Delhi’s colors and aromas are electrifying. In general, the journey was exceptional.

The tour was professionally organized and executed. The guides were exceedingly knowledgeable. The hotels were rated four stars. Our driver was exceptional. Our guide prompt, inquisitive, and proficient in English, who was able to point out sites and answer queries, as well as knowledge the best rest stops along the way, was an exceptional asset. The only issue I have, is the quantity of travel that is necessary every day, from 4.5 to 5 hours.

As a single mother with my 13-year-old son, I embarked on a journey to India. I found the communication and service to be exceptional from the moment I booked this trip online with Eskapas, throughout the holiday, and leading up to it.
Our driver deserves a special mention for his exceptional driving skills, which were on full display during the chaotic traffic. He was consistently attentive and cordial. We were at ease throughout the entire time. The organization was also superior. The hotels and guides were both exceedingly accommodating, and the process was uncomplicated.
