Itinerary

Day 1Arrive in Delhi, India

After clearing customs, you will be welcomed by your representative and enjoy a convenient transfer to your hotel. After check-in, settle in and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight: Delhi Meals: Not Available

Day 2Delhi

After breakfast, you’ll set out to explore India’s capital! You’ll be taken to a handful of Delhi’s most famous attractions, including the Raj Ghat and Qutab Minar.

Zip through the old city by rickshaw and begin your tour at the Red Fort, a 300-year-old walled city built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648 as his capital. The magnificent fort built of red sandstone dates from the very peak of the Mughal power and served as the royal residence until 1857. Opposite the fort is the black and white dome and minarets of the Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque. Drive past the ruins of Feroz Shah Kotla fort with the Ashokan Pillar dating back to 3rd BC, and end your old city tour with a visit to Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi was laid to rest in 1948.

In New Delhi, visit the capital designed by Sir Edward Lutyens and drive past the Presidential Palace, the Rashtrapati Bhawan and the secretariat buildings – the center of all government activity.  Here you’ll see Qutab Minar, representing the first Islamic monument that marked a shift of power in the country. While exclusively Islamic in conception, its execution was the work of Hindus, and its unique designs accompany arabesque verses of the Quran, in a synthesis of two distinct styles meeting for the first time.

Overnight: Delhi Meals: Breakfast

Day 3Delhi - Agra

Today, you’ll travel by private vehicle to the city of Agra. The journey will take approximately 3.5 hours. Once there, you’ll have the opportunity to explore or relax independently for the remainder of the day.

Overnight: Agra Meals: Breakfast

Day 4Agra - Jaipur

Today you’ll wake up early to visit the Taj Mahal at dawn. You’ll return to the hotel for breakfast after your visit. Then you’ll start towards Jaipur with a stop along the way at Abhaneri Village. Arrive in Jaipur in the evening, with free time to relax or perhaps catch a Bollywood film!

Visit of Taj Mahal: Built in memory of Mumtaz Mahal, the late wife of the Mughal emperor Shah Jehan, the Taj Mahal is a stunning display of architecture. Some say it is the most perfect architectural monument in the world, with incredible lacy-white decoration, graceful domes, and pure grandeur. Built out of love, this stunning palace-like structure is extravagant both at a distance and up close.

Please note that The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays, so your Day 4 visit will be rescheduled to another day in the itinerary if necessary.

Overnight: Jaipur Meals: Breakfast

Day 5Jaipur

This morning, you’ll visit the Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal. In the morning, your first stop is Amber Fort. Amber Fort is set on a hilltop overlooking Maota Lake and offers an authentic example of Rajput architecture. Step into the Sheesh Mahal, or Hall of Mirrors, to experience one of the fort’s most spectacular buildings. After, stop at the Palace of Winds, or Hawa Mahal. The beehive-like structure is made of pink and red sand stone and makes for a great photo opportunity!

The afternoon is yours to continue exploring independently. Perhaps you’ll visit Jaipur’s Royal City Palace or a local temple. At dinner time, you’ll enjoy a traditional meal with folk dancing at a local restaurant!

Overnight: Jaipur Meals: Breakfast – Dinner with show

Day 6Jaipur - Delhi

The tour was fascinating and well-organized, so we had a great time. The accommodations were all first-rate.

India was a whole other planet, and we were not ready for this challenge!!! Our tour guide Taj was fantastic; he never once lost his composure and went out of his way to help the less mobile members of our group. He knew all there was to know about India. One further perk was having guides from the area. Because we got in Agra so late after taking the Shatabdi Express, day 9 was a long and exhausting one for everyone. The darkness and lack of scenery made it difficult to enjoy the view.

We had far too many amazing and fascinating experiences to list them all here, but one that stands out is the tuk-tuk trip down the Ganges in Varanasi and the sunset ritual that we witnessed. No time is enough to capture the breathtaking beauty of the Taj Mahal. We had plenty of tasty meals and refreshing bottled water provided to us. This journey will be a great experience for anybody interested inIndia.

Excellent journey; saw several facets of Indian culture. At this Christmas season, it becomes much more intriguing. Traffic on the highways is going to be insane, with trucks, buses, cows, camels, rickshaws, motorcycles, and more all heading in different directions. Beautiful sarees are worn by many women throughout this season. The journey was first-rate. The tour guide was very informed about the background and significance of each site, and she expertly planned the schedule. Among many other sites, we saw the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort, and the Amber Fort. Ranthambore National Park’s safaris were a major draw for us, and we were not disappointed. During the afternoon safari, we witnessed a tiger up close and personal, as well as a tigress tending to her two cubs while they devoured the carcass from the night before.

Our accommodations and service at each of the hotels were first-rate, and we would recommend them to anybody. In order to make sure that you visit all the attractions that anybody might want, the schedule is quite packed. The rickshaw trip through Delhi’s streets is also highly recommended! You should take your heart medication before you go, but trust me, it is worth it. If you are considering a vacation to the Golden Triangle, we highly suggest this tour since we had an amazing experience.

Our journey of India with Eskapas Travel was an exciting and unforgettable vacation. There was not a single item that we needed to worry about between our arrival and the time we boarded the plane to depart. We slept in first-rate lodgings and saw several breathtaking landmarks, as well as a few pleasant surprises. Some of the highlights were seeing Varanasi and the Taj Mahal and having lunch at the home of a well-known local chef. Our guide kept us entertained and educated the whole way. We would gladly suggest this tour to our friends
