Itinerary

Day 1Istanbul Arrival

Arrival at Istanbul airport. Assistance and transfer to the hotel. Meals: No Overnight: Istanbul

Day 2Istanbul

Breakfast at the hotel. Boat trip on the Bosphorus, to contemplate the silhouette of Istanbul with its palaces, mosques and typical wooden houses, the famous “yalis” that line its shores. Return to the port to continue to the Egyptian Bazaar (spice market). After lunch, visit the main monuments of the city: the Hippodrome, the most important place of the Byzantine era where all Byzantines gathered to attend political or sporting events; then visit of the Blue Mosque, unique for its six minarets and world famous for its interior decoration of predominantly blue color. Continue to Hagia Sophia, a masterpiece of Byzantine architecture. Return to the hotel. Meals: Breakfast Overnight: Istanbul Mileage: 20 km

Day 3Istanbul - Ankara

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Topkapi Palace, former residence of the Ottoman sultans, built on the site of the ancient acropolis of Byzantium by Mehmet the Conqueror from 1478. The palace is famous for its porcelain collection, internal treasure room and relics du Prophet (harem section with supplement). Continuation to the Grand Bazaar, a labyrinth thousand and one shops. Departure for Ankara, passing by the Intercontinental Bosphorus bridge. Arrival in Ankara, the capital of Turkey since 1923. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.  Meals: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight: Ankara Mileage: 450 km

Day 4Ankara - Cappadocia (via Salt Lake)

 
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, famous with its unique Hittite collections; and finally the Anitkabir, the Mausoleum of Ataturk, father of modern Turkey. Departure to Cappadocia by the road along the Salt Lake. On the road, visit an underground city, refuge for citizens in times of invasions. Arrival at the hotel and dinner.  Meals: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight: Cappadocia Mileage: 290 km

Day 5Cappadocia

 
Breakfast at the hotel. Day dedicated to the visit of the region: the valley of Goreme which is an open-air museum, with its cave churches decorated with superb frescoes and known with its fairy chimneys, walk in the troglodyte village of Uçhisar. The Derbent valley with its curious natural formations Possibility of visiting a carpet and onyx workshop. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

OPTIONAL: FLY OVER IN CAPPADOCIA WITH HOT AIR BALLOON

Day 6Cappadocia - Istanbul

Breakfast. transfer to Cappadocia airport (ASR or NAV) and flight to İstanbul. Arrival in Istanbul and transfer to the hotel. Meals: Breakfast Overnight: Istanbul Mileage: 160 km

The hotels we stayed in Istanbul and Cappadocia were very nice. However, I didn’t like the hotel we stayed in Ankara, it was a bit substandard. The food was delicious and varied. Driver was a great person. He was very well-intentioned and hardworking. I was generally satisfied.
