Agistri

Agistri

Agistri is a paradise in the Argosaronic Gulf that is easily accessible and is only 19 nautical miles away from Piraeus. This teeny-tiny island, which has fewer than one thousand people living on it, is characterized by its azure seas, pine trees, and lush flora, which provides a safe haven for a great number of bird species. A total of three significant communities can be found on the island, namely Megalohóri (also known as Mýlos), Skála, and Limenária. In addition to the little church of Ayioi Theodoroi, additional attractions on the island include the windmill at Megalochóri, which dates back to 1812, and the neighborhood of Metopis.

Both Megalohori (Mylos) and Skala are considered to be the two largest settlements. In order to take use of the various pubs, restaurants, and lodging amenities, the majority of tourists choose to stay there.

Cycling, horseback riding, and water sports are just some of the activities that may be enjoyed on this island. Other activities include water sports in Skala and Aponisos. Ensure that you do not pass up the chance to take advantage of the stunning walking paths that go through the lush pine forest on the island.

The beaches of Agistri

The beach in Skála, which is known for its sandy and sparkly appearance, is typically the first beach that tourists visit. Despite the fact that it is a harbor, the water is completely transparent. Sun beds, umbrellas, cafeterias, and restaurants are all things that may be found in plenty. At the beaches that are located between Skala and Megalohori, a significant number of people also go swimming.

The adjacent beaches of Skliri and Chalikiáda are accessible on foot for those who are staying at Skala. Small Skliri Beach is located around five to ten feet away from Skala. After another ten minutes of walking down a trail that is surrounded by pine trees, the visitor will finally be able to get closer to Chalikiada. In order to reach the destination, one must descend the slope. Nudists frequent the beach, which is characterized by its white pebbles and its relative seclusion.

There is a beach known as Dragonéra located on the opposite side of Agistri, approximately ten minutes away from Skala via transportation. Pine trees cover the whole bay, making it a really pleasant place to be. In addition, there is a canteen located on the beach. There are stones on the ground that go from the main road to the beach, and you should pay attention to them because they have written messages on them about love, global peace, and other topics.
