Skiathos
When it comes to the Sporades, which are the islands located to the east of Volos and to the north of Evia, Skiathos is the most well-known. Numerous people of varying ages and nationalities, the majority of whom find themselves coming back year after year, may benefit from its many offerings. In reality, the island is an extension of the forested Mount Pelion, and the landscape reflects this fact.
Skiathos is a verdant island that is characterized by plenty of water and woods. Along with wine plants, there are also trees that produce figs, olives, plums, and almonds. In recent times, the success of the film Mamma Mia has resulted in a form of mass-hysteria. This is because individuals who enjoyed the film have been traveling to this location as well as to the nearby island of Skopelos in search of the island that was portrayed in the film. It is possible that they may never discover the scenes that they were seeking for, but visitors to Skiathos should not be dissatisfied in any way.
The difficulty in traveling to this island is the one criticism that can be leveled against it, and it is something that many of the Mamma Mia cultists will soon learn about. The island is very stunning. They practically give the impression that they do not want visitors to visit. For some people, this is an even stronger encouragement to go. On the other hand, you won’t discover an untouched, secluded island that seems to be locked in some time warp from the 1960s or 1970s.
Even though Skiathos has been a tourist destination for many years, it is possible to locate some of the greatest hotels in Greece on some of the most beautiful beaches and wooded slopes. If you do not make reservations in advance, you may have a difficult time getting a room during the months of July and August.
