Our collection of Great Britain tours, which range from five to fifteen days in length, offers something for every kind of traveler, from historic castles to bustling cosmopolitan cities to picturesque countryside. In comparison to other nations, Great Britain, which is comprised of England, Scotland, and Wales, provides a greater number of possibilities to compare and contrast the cultures of the various regions.
Great Britain, despite its small size, has had a tremendous influence on global affairs. “We may be a small country, but we’re a great one too,” Hugh Grant’s character remarked in the timeless film Love Actually. David Beckham’s right foot, Shakespeare, Churchill, the Beatles, Sean Connery, and Harry Potter all hail from this nation. “The left foot of David Beckham…”

Canadian and US passport holders do not need a visa to enter England as a visitor and can stay for as long as six months.
The pound sterling (£) is the official currency of the United Kingdom. It is highly recommended that you change your national currency into pounds as it is uncommon for any other national currency, not even euros, to be accepted for payments in England.
England can be visited any time of year as its climate (generally) doesn’t experience extreme temperatures during summer or winter. Spring (from late March to early June) and autumn (from September to November) are excellent times to experience the changing colours of the countryside, though the country is a joy to explore year-round pending on travel goals.
The schools break for the summer in mid-July, so this is one of the busiest and most expensive times of year to travel to England. Several music festivals are held over this period, and the Notting Hill Carnival is celebrated toward the end of August, to coincide with the summer’s final public holiday
It is customary to leave 10 to 15% of the bill as tip when eating out, though some restaurants add on a service charge instead. In London hotels, people often tip porters. It is polite to round up your taxi fare to the nearest pound for black cabs and licensed minicabs.
Price wise the UK is not a cheap place to eat. There is a huge variety in the price of food . A 5 star meal will cost you upwards of £150 for 2 including a cheaper end bottle of wine. A pub meal will cost from £7 each plus drinks. Prices will vary more on the type of establishment rather than variation between towns.
This is the number 1 mistake to avoid in London: renting a car. This needs to be very clear: DO NOT RENT A CAR IN LONDON. Firstly, London is huge and public transport is excellent so you do not need a car. Secondly, having a car in London will be a huge pain in the backside as well as being incredibly expensive.
London is HUGE! When you look at the map, it looks like everything is quite close but the reality is, it’s not. Everything is quite far away and you might find yourself spending a lot of time in public transport.
The official voltage for the UK and Ireland is the same as the rest of Europe: 230V with most electrical goods operating at around the 220-240Vmark. Unlike Europe, however, the UK and Ireland use a 3 flat rectangle shaped prongs – thicker than the US ones – outlets (Type G).

I recently got back from an amazing Eskapas Travel tour of Wales. Adam, our tour leader, gushed over every detail while he led the group. The locations and cities he knew well and out were invaluable. Delicious regional cuisine, wine, and beer. The majority of these individuals were regulars at the venue.
We loved this Eskapas excursion. Silvio, our tour guide, and Steve, our bus driver, worked nicely together. The vistas were amazing, but Silvio’s remarks and anecdotes made them much better! The extra excursions we did were all great save one. These alternative trips enhanced our vacation!
The one thing we didn’t like was not spending enough time in some of the major cities, but we had to move on. I wouldn’t suggest the London Novotel West. Our room had no air, a malfunctioning mini-fridge, and a nasty vibe. To be honest, we looked forward to leaving that motel each morning. Apart from the hotel, our other stays were great.
