What is the ferry schedule?

Most probably, all ferry routes between Italy and Greece will continue to operate next year, same as this year.

Ferry route: Ancona – Igoumenitsa and Patras

Several weekly ferry crossings from Ancona to Greece are expected to operate in 2021. The ferry trip from Ancona to Igoumenitsa takes 17 hrs on average, while the journey from Ancona to Patras lasts approximately 22.5 hrs. Due to the long duration of the ferry trip, we advise you to book a cabin for a comfortable voyage. The price of the ferry ticket depends on the seat and the amenities that you choose (cabin, vehicle transportation)

Ferry route: Venice – Igoumenitsa and Patras

Venice

The Venice – Greece ferry route will, most probably, continue to operate as it connects Greece with North Italy. The frequency of the ferry departures is usually several times a week, and the duration of the trip to both Greek ports is over 1 day. For that reason, booking a bed cabin is highly recommended.  The ferry connection from Venice to Igoumenitsa is the easiest way to reach western Greece from the northeast coast of Italy. The Venice-Igoumenitsa ferry trip lasts approximately 27 hours, and there are at least 3 itineraries per week for this route. The ferry line from the port of Venice to the port of Patras takes longer yet it gets you straight to the Peloponnese, an excellent place for road trips in mainland Greece as well as a gateway to the south Ionian islands like Zakynthos or Kefalonia. The Venice – Patras ferry connection lasts around 30 hours, and this route has ferry itineraries twice a week.

Ferry route: Bari – Igoumenitsa and Patras

For 2021, ferries will travel almost every day between the two countries. The ferry route from Bari to the port of Igoumenitsa in Western Greece is active throughout the year and it’s one of the fastest ways to get from Italy to Greece by ferry. The Bari – Igoumenitsa ferry line runs at least once every day and the duration of the ferry trip is approximately 11 hours. The ferry connection from Bari to Patras in northwest Peloponnese, operates once a day all year round. The ferry trip from Bari to Patras usually lasts 17 hrs 30 min, while the Bari – Igoumenitsa ferry journey usually ranges from around 10 to 13 hrs. Ferry from Bari to Corfu is a seasonal ferry connection that runs weekly mostly in the summer months. The duration of the Bari – Corfu ferry trip is approximately 10 hours. There is also the option of traveling further south in the Ionian islands and take a ferry from Bari to Cephalonia (Kefalonia), a 16-hour ferry trip. Since the ferry trips from Bari to Greece and Albania can be long and often overnight rides, we recommend that you book a bed cabin or a numbered seat for a more comfortable journey!
